How Often Should You Clean Your Carpets?
For domestic homeowners the recommended timescale for carpet cleaning is every 12 to 18 months.
If the home has rooms or areas in which pets are present this should be taken into account and more regular cleaning undertaken as necessary. Regular cleaning of your carpets will prevent pet odours building up to the point where they become unpleasant and overpowering.
Dirt Damages Your Carpets
Your carpets will wear and sustain damage by dirt and debris which cannot be seen. Foot traffic transfers dirt deep down into the piles of the carpet creating damage to its fibres and also wearing away any stain resistant coatings which may be present.
Once the fibres of the carpet have become damaged they cannot be repaired or restored to their original condition. Fibre abrasion will eventually lead to fibre loss in the carpet.
Effective Carpet Cleaning
Unlike DIY machines (which can be purchased at your local high street store) a professional machine will achieve a better result through deep cleaning of your carpets and at the same time give a faster drying out period because of their improved water extraction features.
